For the last two years I have been collecting
the lullabies of the Jewish Muslim and Christian traditions and produced a
CD called "Lullabies from Jerusalem".
Why lullabies? Lullabies form a language of their own,
by combining the purest of all loves, and the most universal of all songs.
The Kurdish child's fears at night differ in
no way from those of Muslim or Christian children. The Armenian mother's
desire to see her child fall asleep enchanted and engulfed by song and love
is the same as a European or Druze mother.
Bringing together these songs of parental love from
many different cultures reminds us that ultimately we really don't differ.
With haGalil onLine I and many many others
agree in our wishes for peace and unity in Jerusalem and invite you openly
to visit!
Yours sincerely,
Hanna Yaffe
