Offener Brief:
Niederländische Unterstützung für die Jüdische Gemeinde Bochum
An die
Juedische Gemeinde Bochum
Vorstandvorsitzender Grigorij Rabinovich
Alte Wittener Str 13, 44803 Bochum
Amsterdam den 10. März 2004
Sehr geehrter Herr Vorstandvorsitzender
First I must apologise for not addressing you in German. It is with great
sadness that we learned of the demonstration that is going to take place
coming Shabbath in your town of Bochum, by Neo-Nazi's, against the
rebuilding of the synagogue, 65 years after the desecration that took place
in the 1938 Kristallnacht.
Please accept our best wishes of moral support in this most critical
moments for European Jewry and for German Jews at the first place. Only a
few days ago at Shabbat Zachor we were warned in the Torah not to forget
what Amalek has done to the Jewish people and again we see how today's
Amalek seems to find its way attacking the freedom for Jews to observe their
religion. It is most disturbing and difficult to accept that with democratic
and judicial instruments such a demonstration is being allowed in the
streets of Bochum today.
On behalf of the NIK - Organization of Jewish Communities in The
Netherlands we convey our bretherly wishes for the Jewish community in
Bochum and please feel strong and supported by the Jewish people from around
the world. May the House of Worship being build in Bochum really be called a
House of Prayer for all people, so that all will accept the Kingdom of
Hashem Yitbarach.
Most sincerely,
NIK - Organization of Jewish Communities in The Netherlands
Benjamin Blog, President
Ruben E. Vis, secretary general
Rabbi Raphael Evers
